Culture Night 2023

Public speaking is scary!! (but I'm literally so brave)

If the image above didn’t make it clear enough, for Culture Night 2023 I will be taking part in a panel discussion with to fellow Galway podcasters, and I could not be more excited (and nervous).

You can book using the QR code above, and it will be taking place in the Galway City Library, which is a venue very close to my heart as my dear friend (and podcast co-host) Rab Fulton launched his crowdfunded book, Marcus Marcus and the Hurting Heart, there last winter.

Similarly, Over The Edge open mic events took place in the library and they were a wonderful fixture of Galway’s writing scene. Run by the late Kevin Higgins with his writing and life partner, Susan Millar DuMars, these events were a wonderful window into the lives of writers in the west. Kevin’s presence is sorely missed. Although I am nervous (podcasting is very different to actually speaking to a live audience) I am also excited. It’s going to be a big week for me - I’m finally going part-time at my day job!!!

Now, I’m off to the beach to enjoy the last dregs of this Irish summer (It’s 24 degrees!!)
